Missed opportunities
Targetjobs, a graduate job and careers intelligence website, positioned ten field agents at seventy graduate fairs across the country to increase their website and newsletter subscribers. The slow and laborious process of filling in lengthy paper forms at fairs where hundreds of students would be passing through was unproductive for Targetjobs.
A week is a long time
Given that the administrative process after each fair meant that students received login details a week from signing up added to their troubles. In a competitive environment where a seven day time delay meant a drop in retention rates, how exactly could Targetjobs increase subscribers, decrease the time lag and immediately engage students in their website?
The ideal solution
eSAY Mobile, through customising its ubiquitous WorkMobile® application developed to run on handheld PDAs, was then used by Targetjobs' field agents at each graduate fair. Cutting out paper form filling in this way rapidly increased the amount of student subscriptions. With field verification to ensure email addresses were correctly spelt on the electronic data form, Targetjobs no longer had to worry about invalid applications. Furthermore, real-time communication with servers located in the cloud meant applications could be processed immediately and website login details were instantly emailed to subscribers.
Clear objectives
Field agents are also monitored by the amount of accounts they open in a day. Whereas a phone call to alert supervisors was enough to confirm they had started work, agents are now required to automatically 'clock-in and clock-out' through use of the customised WorkMobile® application. Transparency of agent productivity has increased, as it is clearly visible which member of the team is outperforming the others. Targetjobs have since been able to bring about training and innovations for field agents which would just not have been viable without eSAY Mobile's electronic hand held solution.
